The Texas Longhorns began their intercollegiate competition in 1906 and they currently rank 18th in total wins within the NCAA. Their current coach is Shaka Smart who is currently in his sixth season with the Longhorns. The team rank sixth ofr total NCAA tournament games won without having won the nationa championship. Despite this, they have won 27 total conference championships and have made 34 appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
